Curriculum at a Glance

 

The Holy Family School 6th Grade Curriculum, based on the National Common Core Content Standards, is divided between three teachers.  Number systems, geometry, ratios, and probability are among the many topics of study in math. The Language Arts include fiction, nonfiction, informational text, poetry, writing, spelling, grammar, and mechanics.  Science covers earth, life, and physical science.  Emphasis is placed on vocabulary, as well as, the scientific method, and hands on activities.  Social Studies’ focus is on the history and development of societies, along with map skills. Religion includes the study of the Old Testament people and events.
